We're thrilled to launch 'Girl', a new fashion film created by combining the visions of two directors; Nick Knight and Rei Nadal. The piece features fashion by over 30 different London designers including Marques Almeida, Sibling, Shrimps, Ryan Lo and Christopher Kane and explores the trend for overt, almost cartoonish girlishness. It was funded by the BFC Fashion Film Initiative, which is sponsored by River Island. The film sits within our 'Girly' series, which unpicks fashion's relationship with overt, semi-fetishistic femininity. 'Girly' was inspired by key A/W 14 items such Ryan Lo's tutus and Meadham Kirchhoff's minis and contains essays on topics such as emojis and Luella plus interviews with young creatives who embrace the 'girly' look.
