Menswear Live Panel Discussions
SHOWstudio has been covering London Collections: Men with exclusive live panel discussions chaired by the eloquent Colin McDowell. The renowned fashion critic was joined by a stellar gang of panelists - including Hilary Alexander, Ozwald Boateng, Charlie Le Mindu, Patrick Grant and Mandi Lennard - for discussions around shows such as Lou Dalton and Sibling. Nick Knight and Edward Enninful's latest film, 'Hauteur Space', features the mesmerising muse Alexia Wight and pays homage to the elegant artistry of Erte, Beardsley, Bassman and Ionesco. Knight's romanticised vision of a towering woman adorned in creations from Givenchy, McQueen, Ackermann and Vuitton is pitted against billowing plumes of fabric and underpinned with a cinematic orchestral soundtrack. The monochromatic palette and radial light elevates Wight to a celestial state, a reflection on the otherworldly women of the aforementioned artists.

To coincide with our SHOWstudio Shop exhibition 'Practice to Deceive: Smoke & Mirrors in Fashion, Fine Art and Film', the tuxedo jacket, or in French 'Les Smoking', was re-invented and presented by a selection of top designers. Mugler's creative minds, Savile Row tailoring house Hayward, British couturier Giles Deacon and Knit-specialist Craig Lawrence all took up the challenge. Illustrator and textile designer Helen Bullock has been hard at work covering the best looks from London Collections: Men with beautiful illustrations. Meadham Kirchhoff, MAN, Sibling and Katie Eary are just some of the shows that have been interpreted by Bullock's concentrated swaths of watercolour and ink.
