FROM THE ARCHIVE DESIGN_DOWNLOAD: MARTIN MARGIELA
Just days after the latest Maison Martin Margiela Autumn/Winter 2012 show, and as the Paris shows draw to a close, the time feels apt to revisit our 2004 Design_Download, allowing worldwide viewers the chance to collaborate with the esteemed maison and craft your own homage to the designer. A simple shift dress pattern, without sleeves and with no hem, was Maison Martin Margiela's contribution to our series, saying true to their signature considered, stripped-back approach. Engage with the house in a conceptual dialogue by using this as the basis to make a design of your own. As if joining the actual designers at the key stage in the making of a garment, this is your raw material to shape into a completely new and individual garment. Browse our submissions gallery to see how others interpreted the pattern and then get to work! [more]
