| London based brand Void of Course is a collaborative project between Belfast born Sean-Anthony Moran and Dubliner Chris Sutton, creating art, fashion and film with their own unique visceral results. From 22-23 February 2012, Void Of Course take up residency at SHOWstudio as a part of the In Your Face series. Interacting directly with each viewer, they will be answering your questions through SHOWstudio.com and creating two unique garments inspired by Francis Bacon, Buffalo Bill, surgery and mental deterioration and spun out of liquid latex, wire, lace and crystals as they put together something they describe as a 'performance portrait'. Compiled from six parts, each styled by Anna Trevelyan, the films all draw on one key designer using catwalk and specially-commissioned pieces from the likes of Mugler, Walter Van Beirondonck, Nasir Mazhar and Void of Course. Inspired by the performances of aerialist Leo Hedman, every film depicts a different emotional state or world, brought to life by body artist Isamaya Ffrench and art director Alun Davies.  It's been a stellar week for Fashion Mix. Perfectly timed alongside the Londons shows the series boasts playlists from two of Britain's best fashion talents. Monday saw SHOWstudio's own Nick Knight offer up his musical must-haves. The fashion photographer dropped a perfectly balanced mix; one part soulful, with tracks from the likes of Detroit Spinners and Barbara Lewis, and the other party fashion-friendly, hence the inclusion Jeremy Healey's mix from John Galliano's Spring/Summer 2012 RTW show. Friday will see an equally stylish mix, as fashion designer Kim Jones puts forward a diverse range of tracks. The director of Louis Vuitton’s mens ready-to-wear line matches his musical tastes to his fashion ambitions, opting to give something for everyone, from Mozart to Madonna. The New Zealand born singer-song writer and instrumentalist follows in the footsteps of electropop legend Gary Numan, Cerebral Ballzy frontman Honor Titus, o F F Love and British singer/songwriter Vula in offering up an intimate and personal performance.  Among the most brilliant and revolutionary photographers of the twentieth century, the work of Robert Mapplethorpe perfectly expresses the ethos of our In Your Face exhibition. Beginning in New York in the early Seventies, his subjects including Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, Grace Jones and most famously Patti Smith. Mapplethorpe’s depictions of his circle of rent boys, porn stars and the S&M underground spiralled America into controversy. Despite the conservative contention surrounding this sexual self expression Mapplethorpe stated in 1988, 'I don't like that particular word "shocking". I'm looking for the unexpected. I'm looking for things I've never seen before'. In Your Face’s triptych of his works, Agitto, George Bradshaw and Derrick Cross, are beautifully balanced explorations of the male form and typify Mapplethorpe’s unashamed confrontation of homosexual and racial attitudes of the 1980’s.
