MONSTER BALL
As part of her Monster Ball world tour in 2009, Lady Gaga asked Nick Knight and Ruth Hogben to create a number of films to use as part of her on-stage performance and as interludes in the epic show. Building film into the architectonic feeling of the Monster Ball tour, these films explore iconic notions of fame, celebrity and life in an evolving metropolis.
This week, three new interlude films have been released into the Monster Ball project: 'Intro', 'Toilet So Happy' and 'Tornado', offering Lady Gaga fans the chance to experience the unique visuals of the Monster Ball anew.

COLLECTIONS: NEW YORK, LONDON, MILAN AND PARIS S/S 2012
Having visually digested all that the spring 2012 season has to offer from New York, London, Milan and Paris, SHOWstudio fashion director Alexander Fury gives his overview of the latest collections city-by-city, dissecting the designers' creations for next year in a series of round-up reports. Examining the overriding mood of the times - as well as detailing the good, the bad and the ugly (although whether pejorative or complimentary is truly in the eye of the beholder), let us recap the season that was and that will be, and perhaps give an indication of what women will look like in the brave new world of 2012. Acrylic paint and collage activate the composition, creating a scene of intrigue and anticipation.

FROM THE ARCHIVE
DRESS ME UP, DRESS ME DOWN
Exploring the idea of control in fashion image-making - shifting control from the image-maker and stylist to the model, and then ultimately to the viewing public themselves - in 2005 Dress Me Up, Dress Me Down offered SHOWstudio viewers the chance to dress Liberty Ross during Nick Knight's live interactive photoshoot. Inspired by live pornographic video chats widely available on the web Ross became the focus of a series of fashion film interactives and imagery, the creation of which was determined by the online audience and Ross herself. These interactive editorial images are accompanied by Liberty Ross' video and picture diaries documenting her experiences on fashion shoots and an interactive comprised of footage shot by Liberty, utilising her own body as a canvas for aesthetic experimentation. The origins of the shoot are mapped out through mood boards that investigated Jonathan Kaye's selection of key seasonal themes, and also a series of essays and personal statements from a variety of voices on the subject of pornography. Orient Express
There has been an Asiatic undercurrent to much of fashion recently - Marc Jacobs' camp (his words, not mine) spring 2011 collection for Louis Vuitton was something of a starting point, despite the criticism it reputedly garnered.  [more]
Amanda Harlech - Last of the roses
Last gold before Winter's dark approach. Last of the roses. So many other things that I should be doing but I am drawn back to the garden and its passing splendour. I just sit and watch. [more]
Matthew Williams - American Juggalo
American Juggalo is a film by Sean Dunne, it looks at the often mocked and misunderstood subculture of Juggalos, hardcore Insane Clown Posse fans who meet once a year for four days at The Gathering of the Juggalos. [more]
