 Framing a brief moment of communicative transmission through transition, Bruce Davidson induces powerful emotion within his black and white photograph. As the photographic lens focuses on the human search for meaning, A London City Cafe provokes a sense of curiosity as we are given insight into the lives of those portrayed. By viewing this particular scene in which Davidson's subjects are documented as facing potentially ruinous social obstacles, an expressive realisation of social concern and sympathy presents itself.
