| CURRENT LES SMOKINGS - HAYWARD RE-STREAM | |
| The re-stream of the third installment of our Les Smokings series kicks off at 18:00 BST this evening, giving viewers a second chance to watch as Ritchie Charlton of London tailoring powerhouse Hayward creates a bespoke tuxedo before your very eyes. Originally broadcast as part of our most recent SHOWstudio Shop exhibition Practice to Deceive: Smoke and Mirrors in Fashion, Fine Art and Film, Hayward's residency was inspired by the concept of dispelling the 'smoke and mirrors' of the fashion industry, giving viewers an unprecedented insight behind the process of creation. The finely tailored suit, the result of his three day residency was modelled by Primal Scream frontman and Hayward client, Bobby Gillespie. Watch the intricate outlines and cutting of fabric evolve before your eyes into a finely tailored suit, the pinnacle of men’s sartorial elegance, across the next three days.  Curiously titled Fashion, Peter Saville's monolithic sculpture epitomises the significance of conceptual change in art making. Reminiscent of Marcel Duchamp's infamous 'readymade' artpiece Fountain, which saw a urinal placed on its side and essentially 're-made', Saville too, successfully alters the perception of art. The virginal white galvanised steel framework encases pristine leather whilst severe eyelets serve as simplified corset hooks.
