LIVESTUDIO - MARY KATRANTZOU
Just before Christmas, milliner extraordinaire Stephen Jones OBE visited our LiveStudio for his 'Glamour On A Budget' afternoon residency, creating an abstract floral arrangement and beautiful wreathed pillbox as part of our SHOWstudio Shop exhibition Florist. With these two elements sandwiching a one-on-one interview with Jones answering questions submitted by the public, our final edit of Jones' residency is now available to watch. Don't miss this opportunity to see the wit and glee of a true fashion great ahead of our next LiveStudio video launch - featuring Mary Katrantzou's Florist session - due to go live this coming Friday 10 June 2011.

IN FASHION, JASON WU
After our live In Fashion broadcast with Daphne Guinness yesterday, today we launch the edit of our last sitter, new New York fashion star Jason Wu. The designer behind the history-making inauguration gown of Michelle Obama, as well as a neat line in flirtatious cocktail dresses and pin-sharp tailoring that have seen his business expand exponentially in the past five years, sat down with our Fashion Director Alex Fury earlier this year to discuss his past, future, and of course that dress. All that, and more, is covered in our fifteen minute one-on-one with this rising stateside talent. [more]

Kicking off with Pitti Immagine next week - featuring guest spots from young Americans Band of Outsiders and Rodarte - fashion director Alex Fury and contributing fashion writer Hywel Davies bring you all the best that the continent has to offer for gli uomini and les hommes from Italy and Paris

FROM THE SHOP
LAURA, 1999
Fashion photographer and filmmaker Craig McDean is renowned for his striking fashion imagery - and his contribution to our current exhibition Practice to Deceive: Smoke and Mirrors in Fashion, Fine Art and Film is by no means an exception. Titled after the model, Laura, McDean's smoky abstraction is blown to colossal proportions to amplify each and every detail. A billow of smoke conceals her face, delineated by nothing but a brown circle - hence, this image can be seen to examine both metaphorically and literally the exhibition concept of 'smoke and mirrors'. Physically obscured and with any visible narrative wilfully eschewed, McDean's masterpiece perfectly exemplifies our deceptive show.  [more]
