Nick Knight, Mary Katrantzou, Karlie Kloss and Lily Donaldson
Since Mary Katrantzou's earliest collections, SHOWstudio has admired and championed the London-based designer. To celebrate her brand's growth, Nick Knight collaborates with Katrantzou on a fashion film to showcase iconic pieces from her archive. Her prints - sometimes subtle, sometimes surrealist - come alive in motion, both on Karlie Kloss and Lily Donaldson, and in pioneering 3D animations.

Go behind-the-scenes on Nick Knight and Alexander McQueen's first collaborative venture, a series of images for the 1996 Florence Biennale. The photographs, which feature McQueen himself alongside model Carmen Hawk, were the designer's first step into image-making and art direction and reference prostitutes' calling cards.

Watch exclusive newly-edited footage of Alexander McQueen illustrating a selection of designs back in 2003. Nick Knight was commissioned by the CFDA to make a film that celebrated McQueen's vision - the resultant video shows the designer intently sketching looks from his A/W 03 'Scanners' and S/S 03 'Irere' shows.

In 2000, Nick Knight and Lee McQueen collaborated on their 'Angel' installation, exhibited in La Beauté en Avignon. The work was composed of 80 gallons of live dyed maggots arranged in the shape of an angelic face. Watch the newly-edited footage reveal the preparation for the installation. 'You get the most beautiful girl made out of the most grotesque thing,' McQueen explains.

Lou Stoppard and Nick Knight
As part of our rolling 'Unseen McQueen' series, SHOWstudio editor Lou Stoppard interviewed Nick Knight about his long collaborative relationship with Alexander McQueen. Knight sheds light on his first collaboration with the late designer for the 1996 Florence Biennale and provides an insight into their 'Angel' installation for the 2000 Festival de Avignon.
